CIRCUIT/22 · A member-owned loop
The money comes home.
Discovery Co-op is a locally-owned co-operative serving North Battleford, Radisson, Glaslyn, and Cutknife. Eighteen thousand members own it. What it earns, it returns: as equity in their accounts, and as funding in their towns.
How the loop works
Patronage, drawn as a circuit
As owners, members receive a portion of any profits earned by their local co-operative, as annual cash back or equity, based on a percentage of their purchases through the year. Over the past five years, local associations across Western Canada have returned almost $1.4 billion to their members.
